Crater Lake is very beautiful, but there is nothing like exploring an enormous volcano. Since you have dogs we should road trip out to Yellowstone sometime.

We drove into Yellowstone in early June from the north during a high mountain rainstorm that cleared as we started to drive down from the peak. There were rainbows arching out of the pools we were passing and I thought, clearly, this is what Earth was like as it was forming.

I love bison & their shaggy pants. It's a great park. We once saw a big group of cars pulled over to watch a "wolf" (coyote) while behind them a black bear & her twin cubs strolled along the other side of the road. (Grew up in the Feed The Bears from Cars era)

Beautiful pictures! I went with a friend from HS few years after graduating from University in 1995-ish. Did Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and drove past Grand Tetons. Was a wonderful trip. Yellowstone felt like we were on the set of Lost in Space. Never seen anything like it.

Every time I see a bison photo (with nothing to give its size reference) - it just feels like they would want you to come and give them scritches.

(This is diametrically opposite of how the Indian Bisons appear 🤭)
