Sometimes the win for an immigrant kiddo in detention is getting approved for Voluntary Departure (which doesn't bar returning to the US to make an asylum claim) instead of getting a deportation order (a 3- to 20-year or permanent bar to reentry). And having a safe repatriation plan. ❤️

SIXTY federal agents kitted out like they were taking on Osama Bin Laden to raid a swap meet. The ONLY people they ended up arresting were to people already going through immigration court proceedings, seemingly rearrested because ICE agents didn’t want to go home empty-handed.
