Trying to remember a time when young people protested against the indiscriminate murder of civilians, and then history looked back on that and gave it the thumbs down.

Like, is this where we're at as a nation...where we look back at the campus protests against the Vietnam War and the Iraq War and think "boy, those stupid kids were really out of touch" and thank God the protesters got shot at and tear gassed!
I don't think that's really how it is, though, at least not totally. I think a lot of it is like this, because to these people, this is now-times, and those were then-times, and it's...different somehow. See also: MLK.
Anyway, glad to see all the people who called January 6 "legitimate political discourse" bloodthirstily cheering on the heavily armed troops who are occupying college campuses.
[with deepest apologies to Whitney Houston]
🎵I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and get 'em out the way
Show them all the wrongness they possess inside
Give them a real rough ride to make it easier
Let the children's screams remind us how it ought to be
If I may:
“I believe the children are our future /
Call the cops and haul them far away /
Tell them ‘hush your mouths, before we tan your hiiiiiiides’” 🌈💖
Bill Barr was deputized by the Police to beat up protesters at Columbia when he was 17. I think he probably still feels the same about them. I also think he actually did have a problem with Jan 6.
