Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos. I want the tech bros out of politics so I’m not paying for Washington Post. I did, however, pick up subscription to The Economist.
I think the administration seeks a war with the courts. Trump thinks he was sent by God to save America (the bullet from last year only strengthened his belief) and Musk thinks he is God. They consider courts only an instrument of the deep state, designed to stop their chosen destiny.
Without the rule of law, the US is a poor investment choice. One would expect those who can move money easily would choose to convert their USD to other currencies. The USD has shown weakness the last couple of days. It is the canary in the coal mine for an economic reckoning.
Not the only hope, but the inevitable consequences of the Trump administrations actions ensure that they will face consequences. Americans have agency and the opportunity to act. Whether sufficient numbers do to avoid an economic collapse, remains to be seen.
Well, the American Dream as I understand it is that we can make a society where everyone gets what they deserve, however unlikely. Subtle but significant difference from Communism's "to each according to their needs." So it would be very American for these shitheads to get what's coming to them.
