Many people are going to feel the need to defend trans care for adults using the libraries of published evidence supporting its safety and efficacy--which is fine, but the actual standard to uphold is "it's my body and I fucking said so"

This is the same fight that women are facing with regard to bodily autonomy. Women's Choice is a right not a slogan so is trans-choice. It's our bodies you do not define for us who we are You cannot legislate us out of existence we will be here long after you fail. GOP this message is for you
Who do you think Tran's Choice refers to every time I post about trans I never say trans women. I always say trans people trans person trans choice because I include everybody both trans men trans women and everything I say because we're all in this together it should be freedom of bodily autonomy
I know, I also said trans choice to infer everyone who was trans. Because I'm sure trans men don't want to be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. I said what I said to specifically address each group as I perceived it wanted to be acknowledged. Trans men are men, and all deserve bodily autonomy
Left out is how this impacts cis men who love & are next of kin/healthcare advocates for transgender men & boys, women and girls. They want to be empowered to protect and provide for those they love & they’re even reduced to hapless observers & begging for mercy in crisis.
It’s the fact that the legislature is not empowered or qualified to interfere in individual medical decisions. Those used to be considered private. The Dobbs decision didn’t just screw people who can get pregnant. It’s part of a eugenics program.
yeah I once saw someone wonder why trans women care so much about abortion rights given that we can't get pregnant and I was like well first of all I give a shit about people other than myself but second of all there is nothing on earth more important to trans people than bodily autonomy
Ya, but so what? I think it’s important to remind people the transgender masculine community, as a whole, is often overlooked when it comes to considerations of unintended & intended pregnancy. According to research, anecdotal evidence, providers & public health experts, it’s important to address
Trans care, reproductive /maternal care basically every time a patient consults a doctor is private, stays that way & isn't reportable to any authorities that require an ID attached.
In short M.Y.O.B.
Start insisting the same values are demanded for Viagra sales & STD clinics & see them shut up.
Their fetishisation (and not in a fun way) of expert knowledge prevents many people from realizing that fascists don't care about evidence.
Fascists' arguments are pretexts. It's all about crushing any hope for emancipation.
Honestly this is the be-all end-all for why any effort to ban it should be absolutely opposed by all, but the evidence stuff ends up being a useful secondary for "and this is why it should be covered by insurance etc." cause a lot of people will agree with that first point but not want to pay for it
It's annoying having to justify why our care is essential enough to cover but it's so important in the face of a world that could very easily go "sure do whatever you want, if you can afford it" to a population that historically has much less economic power.

Their violence on the person and because 'we said so' is the point of the coming Anglo Saxon Christian Fascism
