This is incredibly evil. Their goal, as much as it is to delight in the suffering of those they are being cruel to, is to render it ridiculous to plainly state: this is wicked before the eyes of God. So we have to say, clearly, decisively, with certitude: this is wicked.

Sam Nordquist was a Black trans man who was murdered by 5 white cis people in such brutal fashion that a cop on the case called it β€œthe most depraved crime I’ve seen in 20 years.” By stripping Sam of his identity, the NYT violates his memory and perpetuates a culture of racist, anti-trans violence.

my favorite thing about this is that "sack lunch" isn't a neologism, it's actually a regionalism – and a somewhat old-fashioned one, to boot – from the parts of the US where "sack" has been the usual term for a brown paper bag, as seen in these dialect maps dialect.redlog.net/staticmaps/q...
