It's weird seeing people (rightfully) criticizing that take about how eating out should be cheaper than cooking agree with this. Ultra processed foods aren't cheaper than beans or frozen vegetables in terms of meeting your caloric needs. They are cheap *vices*.

Reading his comments on RFK jr., and it's extraordinary to me that Bernie Sanders of all people can miss the fact that the problem is not that ultra-processed foods exist, but that these are all that most people can afford. Any notion of food justice divorced from economic justice is worthless.
