Well it would be great if some sort of rule of law applied to these people, but given the farcical nature of the US constipation allowing his best pal to be immune from any crime just because he fooled people into voting for him, I wouldn't hold my breath. Basket case country.
Musk will give the SEC the finger, refuse to pay any penalty, then threaten/out the SEC lawyers, ruining their lives, without consequence.
Trump's SEC will dismiss lawsuit via new SEC Chair, Paul Atkins.
Why?
250,000 more Americans in 3 states voted for Fascism, wittingly or not.
They want this.
I'm a Brit, speaking from my understanding of how a foreign country operates, but IMHO an obvious issue arising now is with the staffing of every Federal Government Agency.
They already have MAGA-fascists within, ready and willing to purge their peers if/when allowed.
AFAIK being Feds the SEC are subordinate to the DoJ in both investigation and prosecution, as well as 'supervised by Congress'... Trump's AG can leverage allowing the SEC to act against Musk or not as part of the sort of 'court politics' that goes with having a Monarch.
🙄"The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is an independent agency of the United States federal government..."
Breaking News: it's going to be under new management very soon, and even if it's allowed to remain in existence the odds that it will be effective against Musk (or Trumps) are nil.

That little helping hand and donation to Trump will be repaid in weeks, what an investment that was.
