Merz just said on German TV that the primary priority of his government will be to ensure that Europe can achieve full strategic independence from the United States in the defence against Russia.

Merz was once a die hard Atlanicist. Now, after Trump he is a Gaullist.

Their positions are often close enough for the 🇩🇪 Tories (CDU) and the 🇩🇪 Labour party (SPD) to form a coalition! Unheard of in UK, I know!

54% of women who voted, voted for Harris, but crucially only 47% of white women voted for Harris, so I'm going to go with racism, which has had such a significant effect on American life.
I note that those percentages are based on exit polls so final percentages might be slightly different

That’s what I don’t get about their project- the US haven’t been involved in European defence since the Second World War because they’re the good guys. They’ve been involved because it’s in their interest. What is the outcome of this? A US-Russia alliance against Europe and China? To what end?
