Thanks for your reporting here - from isolated Aotearoa, it's often hard to maintain a clear, updated understanding of events in your part of the world, though of course, it's eyes open for other new sources as well - cheers!
It’s more an internal thing about government incompetence. There was a catastrophe at a rail station that killed 15 people. But the government *is* pro-Putin so every little helps!
Oh that is so very sad, but what really gripped my heart is the passion that led to 1/6 of the population protesting. It gives me joy that the general apathy of the last few decades is disappearing to be replaced by fury and passion.
The protests aren't related to Trump tho. They were triggered by the collapse of part of a newly-refurbished railway station that killed 15 people last November.
And we may have to do the same. And if that doesn't work, then we may need to self immolate the economy to deprive the Orange Turd of the ability to continue his tyranny.
Tonight during a 15 minute silence for those killed in Novi Sad, there is strong evidence that Vučić used an illegal ultrasonic weapon to cause anxiety and panic among the crowd of mainly parents and children. This needs to be investigated urgently by the EU!
I read crazy things. Someone wrote, "It would take an estimated 10 million to overthrow the USA government." Ummm, where am I going with this for Serbia? I wish pops were alive he was fluent in Serbian. As a Slav, he read their news. We own a farm in the Serbian area of Montenegro for eons.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of these protests. But politics in Central and Eastern are a real mess and there is no guarantee that tolerant, open minded, democratic governments will be the end result. A lot of folks that may have supported that type of have long since emigrated.
That said, politics in the "west" are also becoming a mess, with growing segments in many countries seemingly not fussed if democratic societies are hollowed out or replaced by various shades of illiberal government.
Meanwhile, Russian dissidents still talk about Bolotnaya protests. The Moscow police estimated that 25,000 participated on the busiest day. Activists say 50,000.

Where are they by the way?
Freedom is beautiful!
