One of the things that always depreses me wrt spacex is the degree to which people would fetishize their technological accomplishments without asking what that technology was being used for, and Rocketlab are exactly the same only with the added insufferability of NZers need to feel important.

We were talking about the risks of RocketLab being militarized years ago (shout out to Oliver Neas ) & routinely got told by people that it was a silly belief & to back kiwi science. NZ politicians & media were similarly uninterested
