Skating after 35 is a whole other world. The muscle memory is there but the actual muscles don't have the exact strength they did in your 20s, so everything feels off. Low impact tricks (curbs and crushing), lots of stretching, hour-long warm up and ibuprofen before every session seems to help me.
I feel like the hardest part is remembering all the tricks you could do way back when but your body wants nothing to do with it now. It can really get you down, but I think reframing the approach to skating (with current age in mind) helps a lot.
