Today, I treat banned books just like I used to with the magazines in the drug store when I was a kid; the ones that had a black plastic covering over the outside and were placed on the back row.
I suspected there was something inside that I wanted to see, and...most of the time...I was right.

Sometimes, Iβll read one and wonder what could possibly be offensive. Then I read the controversy and it is usually that the people objecting havenβt read it or missed the point entirely.
Years later I realized it was Hustler with the cover torn off.
All the stuff they banned you wanted to do (and usually did) and all the stuff they made you do sucked.
If they wanted to stop under-16s using social media, they'd have more success if they made it compulsory in school.
I sometimes forget I'm not always talking to people in Australia.

LOL
That's like banning a song, or a piece of art.
Banning a rainbow or a raindrop.
It's absurd to me.
Banning Enya.
lol
I'm in the same boat, though.
That's why I read the Anarchist's Cookbook.
They clearly have no concept or appreciation of the fantasy genre. π€·ββοΈ
Parents who forbid fantasy, really do deprive their children. Fantasy allows us humans a safe way to explore the human condition...π€·ββοΈ
Man, we have a lot of work to do these next few years.
Have a good evening; nice to βspeakβ with you.
Dang; Iβm almost sorry I asked.
Thanks for letting me know.
The fantasy genre provides a way for children to learn about life's challenges safely. Fantasy and myth can be found in every culture. And it is commonly used as a tool of teaching children.π€·ββοΈ
Iβm curious, if the book is banned, how did you read it?
What happens if someone finds them?
Says more about the people who do the banning .
What are they actually afraid of ?
Ideas?
do they think we're stupid, or don't sit on the library counsel or the nature conservancy? srsly go ban all the books you want, the kids will read them just because you banned them, back when weed wasn't legal, the kids smoked joints
