My great uncle was a numismatic dealer, he always said you should keep on hand a couple of bags of silver coins, as you wouldn't be able to use paper money or gold at the store if the bottom ever fell out. With trump, it would be great ideal.

I once worked at a company and with no notice to staff, one day all our paychecks were docked 50%. It was a Friday, so no one to ask until Monday. Turned out our director had a margin number to make for his bonus and made it by docking pay. My stack of bills didn’t reduce by 50% tho.

Aside from covering one's digital financial footprint, I foresee the need to pay off cops and gangs in a pinch. It's best to go into this knowing anyone can be in a desperate situation at any given time. Spent several years of childhood in a country with a military dictatorship - cash is essential.
