#MythologyMonday The satyr Ampelos is the personification of the grapevine and lover of Bacchus. The Greek poet Nonnus tells us Ampelos was killed by a wild bull after he mocked the goddess Selene. Bacchus transformed Ampelos's body into the first grape vine and created wine from his blood.
