The 1st excavations at the #Roman fort of #Trimontium by James Curle began in February 1905 (120 years ago this month!) and were completed in 1910. In his own words, he did not realise 'how large an undertaking lay before me' - to mark this anniversary - Objects and images from Trimontium.
