Randall Flagg, AKA the Dark Man, appears in lots of King novels. He is the main antagonist in The Stand, The Eyes of the Dragon, and the first volume of The Dark Tower
The Dark Tower series actually ties in many of Steven Kings'
novels. Including The Stand. I do believe that Mid-World in the Dark Tower is actually the same planet the stand takes place in. Just a later time.
If you loved The Stand I suggest reading The Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin. Incredible books with a richly layered plot and well developed characters.
I had read the original release first and found it lame. But the uncut version has a bunch of stuff I really like, like all the short scenes of the chaos that unfolds at the beginning of the pandemic, like the DJ barricading himself inside of his station and then getting blasted by the pigs.
The ending still sucks, tho. You have two armies converging in Boulder and Las Vegas...and instead of a monster battle, you get some lame ass atomic bomb killing all the baddies? What a letdown after 1500 pages.
One of my friends read it and he really liked it. I’ve read 2 of his books, and I like certain things, dont like other things that I really cannot ignore. I wish i liked Stephen King more.
One of my first “grown up” books. I read this book in the 7th grade. I saw my mother couldn’t put it down, so I read it behind her back. King has been my fave since. I’m in my mid 40s now

Yeah it was awesome BUT…. It could have been 3-400 pages shorter
I was seeing mile markers to cities that I was reading about. It was crazy.
Who knew US would elect Randall Flag as president. Our next pandemic will be called Captain Trips.
