I have progressive lenses for my glasses, and I just do not understand how people function without single vision readers. I have hurt my neck so many times trying to find the right place in my glasses to read through. I have resorted to taking off the progressives and just using bigger fonts. - ThreadSky

For me, the progressives are for glances at phone or watch, usually held a bit above waist level. Any longer reading sessions I switch to readers.

I gave up on progressives. It took me a while to realize that I need glasses for reading computer screens and driving. I've now have separate eye glasses for those things. I don't need glasses for reading. I've occasionally caught myself driving wearing my computer glasses.

It sounds like the measurement for the progression line is incorrect. It should be basically not noticeable—glance down to read, glance up to do everything else. There’s a brief adjustment period when I have to bump up the magnification, but that’s all.

I think it’s much more a problem of me holding things too high. If I’m sitting with my iPad on my knees, it’s just too high up. The progressives are in the right place if I’m knitting or sitting up correctly. I just like to sit in weird positions. Also lying on my side reading in bed is a huge fail.

Oh yeah, I have regular glasses for bed reading. Mostly because I kept falling asleep and making my glasses all wonky, lol.
