It’s deepest February, with cold in the air and snow on the ground, but here is a stack of new books and ARCs to keep you warm. What here is catching your eye?

Wrote a little something in the mighty @rollingstone.com about #TeslaTakedown. In anticipation of our upcoming second weekend of protests! Join or create an event for ANY day and ANY country at Teslatakedown.com. Download our flyers and background to get informed and get involved!

I had to get a background check to work at a public library, but the muskrats were vetted by answering “do you think cybertrucks are cool?” the right way.

I just signed an executive order abolishing Fridays. So he can stop doing the most horrible things on Fridays.

Trader Joe’s had eggs and a polite sign asking/telling us one dozen eggs per person. The cheapest were $3.49. I think the most expensive were still under $5. Enjoying eggs before Easter wipes out the whole supply.

#thetraitorsus is so messy.

New Luigi fit just dropped. Looking for a post with alt tags by someone good at describing fashion.

It's also on Pandora and pretty much everywhere, I think!

Interesting thread!

Thousands of people are visiting our site and pulling down our #TeslaTakedown flyers and info packets. Join an event or create your own at TeslaTakedown.com

This will be devastating to the disability community Telehealth was a game changer for us. It was something people had begged to access for years, because healthcare settings are so inaccessible. Remote medicine allows us to save money, spoons and avoid hospital acquired infections.

Congratulations, we've reached rat plague level.

Everybody like "Trust your readers! 😻" and the readers out here like

I see they started with the copyeditors.

I will vote for the first candidate who tells me they're going to make the biggest government possible. Reacher-sized agencies. Braun Strowman-level social benefits. Government so big it starts belching out National Parks and free healthcare. Chungus State.

If we can't sleep peacefully, they don't get to sleep peacefully. Don't call your republican reps because you think you can convince them. Call them because fuck them, they don't get a free pass on this shit.

The mothers met in a Whatsapp group. They have vowed to fight until their sons, who they say have not committed crimes and do not have ties to gangs, are released.

You don't have to be local to a bookstore to order from them! Also get on their mailing list so you know what cool new books are out there. Also occasionally there will still be virtual author talks (wish there were more).

All of the budget will go towards the eggs they use on the frying pan

It’s the only reliable source when you don’t know where to start looking. It’s not always as complete as I’d like, but accurate. Throw a coin to your Witcher to keep its lights on.

Once again, in an exhausted voice: None of the terrible things are a distraction from the other terrible things. It's all happening. It's all real. It's all hurting real people. When Dems call "distraction," they're failing the people getting hurt. It's also a terrible strategy.

If you need your refund, better file asap.

awwwww shit y'all, the flight attendants have entered the chat 🤘🤘🤘

This is just to say I have fired the bureaucrats throughout your government Even the ones that were probably keeping planes in the air Forgive me I am not very smart So efficiency Much savings

[threatening a baby] here comes the airplane

If we got rid of the electoral college system, the voting system as a whole would be less easy to hack. But when you can target literally one state to swing things your way, the scope of the task becomes more doable.

DOGE recommended firing workers at: -FDA, which oversees Neuralink -FAA, which oversees SpaceX -USAID, which probed Starlink -CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X. "Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

Haha. I nearly believed this. Might try it with Star Trek.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

This is why the Tesla boycott/divestment strategy can work where others have failed. If we can move Tesla stock, we can wipe out a huge amount (if not all) of Elon Musk's wealth. This opportunity is too important not to pursue all-out. #TeslaTakedown

Also à propos of nothing: authoritarian systems love laws with wide targets. Because they'll apply these selectively: only to the out-group--except, of course that the out-group gets redefined and extended by the regime as time passes. A lot of people will think themselves safe, until they aren't.

This is perhaps not an ideal time for NASA to have redefined its primary mission as "track down and destroy all copies of the movie Hidden Figures".

Trump via Musk has fired more than a few federal librarians over the last week. Not for cause, but for politics. This includes librarians at the National Library of Medicine.

Do you need a smile? This put a smile on my face.

Librarianship has never been neutral. Cataloguing and classifications are always-already political.

AOC has them sputtering mad because she’s educating people on constitutional rights. You don’t see them freaking out at Jeffries for talking about egg prices.
