Suppression of behavior leans on executive functioning, which is resource intensive and leaves anyone with EF issues (ADHD, AuDHD, etc.) at a natural disadvantage.

This can lead to a double whammy when suppression is needed alongside cognitively demanding tasks, impacting both.

A lot of neurodiverent people learn to suppress their symptoms over time, but they never truly go away.
