I'm just saying that if we're going to keep going like this, we need to increase the range of things you're allowed to say on here without getting yourself fired.
I am often reminded of the old Soviet joke, where a new prisoner arrives in the gulag and meets a friend who's been there for years, who asks him, "Comrade! How are things out in freedom?"
The new prisoner replies, "Average, comrade: not as good as last year, but much, much better than next year!"
The only faint optimism I can muster is that Musk/Trump will crash the U.S. economy so spectacularly that they'll break the MAGA fever. But yeah, that kinds screws all of us. And I'm not even confident that the fever can be broken; they've been preaching "run government like a business" for decades.
There will certainly be no shortage of MAGA people who'll promptly turn around and blame it all on Biden/Obama/Clinton
(and also some on the left who for various reasons will pile on).
My friends ask me why I am angry all the time when they talk about current events. I gesture around me like they should probably be more aware, and then explain the deep dark truths about the things they shrug off.
They still call me for beers for some reason lmao.

Well should we do it again?
