There's a lot of talk about how townhouses are bad. I get it—it's not great if you have mobility issues that prevent you from climbing stairs. But they are literally hundreds of thousands of dollars less than a typical million-dollar single-family house—the same houses that are supposedly so sacred.

The attached townhouse/rowhouse I stayed in in the Netherlands had the same square footage and basically the same floor plan as the detached single family home I live in in Canada. Same number of stairs. No more or less accessible.

Yeah, I imagine that for a lot of folks, the most viable path they can currently foresee is condo (by 30s) -> town home (by 30s maybe early 40s)-> house (50s). Unless you’re a dual income, no kids, both employed by tech household

The revised plan was written over 18 days during the holiday after comments closed December 20th. The additional heights, specificity and distribution of the five story urban centers and neighborhood centers is a drastic change from what people thought the comprehensive plan proposed in March. .

And yes, the city council has been asked to digest an enormous amount of data within only a few weeks. Moreover, the city planning department is legally required to respond to all comments from both rounds of community input, and they have responded to none.

Rivera is probably talking about the Appendices - she's mentioned them before and half said it before she cut herself off. They were released on the 6th, and are the major change between the versions (because like you mention, there are otherwise few differences).
