I know right. I was in a hospital waiting room this morning and 2 ladies were exchanging shopping tips and a couple more people joined in and the 2 person team giving out flu shots got in on the action . Never seen this before. Mostly seniors too.
I've also found senior lady activists. Our numbers are growing and we're not afraid to engage in conversation, advice and opinions on today's political climate.
At a local Walmart's main entrance, they have a couple of pallets of lettuce from Dole. I stood there a good 20 minutes on a recent visit pointing shoppers towards Ontario's grown options, some just a 20Cent difference in price. I felt so proud of the enthusiasm and gratitude of the folks there.
My wife was super pissed the other day when she saw that the bottle of rice vinegar, complete with Asian text on the label, that she bought was made in the States. Won't make that mistake again.
Sobeys in PEI was giving out free samples of an American premade salad-Taylor’s. I used to buy it but even at half price I walked by and bought Greens, tomatoes and cukes from ON.
Love it. We are not helpless. Our money and our vote speak loudly. Next...shut pp down. It's our country. Good or bad, it's ours and we hold the power. Glad we remembered that. 🇨🇦
Sadly, our rules are what 34 doesn't like. I like our rules. It will probably get here, eventually, but at least we tried. That's also at the root of the dairy thing.
I was checking the label on something in Costco yesterday and two people ask me whether it was made in Canada or not. I told them no, US, and they said thanks and I put it back down and they both smiled and laughed.
My late ex MIL (UK) said the camaraderie in ww2 was great, everybody pulled together. Her daughter is Canadian, so for the sake of her 4 grandchildren I'm glad to hear this.
We are still doing the online ordering, but we've chosen Canadian owned businesses and tried to choose just Canadian products. We also a few years back got on a local meat ordering subscription. Amazing meat, all flash frozen, from farms within 200km.
Please don’t buy anything made in America if you can help it. Encourage your friends & family not to buy anything made in America.
If Trump has done anything, it’s to make Canadians & Mexicans proud of where they live to the point where they are willing to buy products made in their own countries.
At Farmboy tonight, ahead of this snowstorm, every spinach on offer was from the states, and there was TONS of it. So I’m giving “sweet pea shoots” from Canada a try! All the US produce was stocked and untouched. 💪🏻
I’ve always engaged with people in the grocery store, but this is a whole new level. You nailed it - it’s now a sport and we’re all on #TeamCanada!! 👊🇨🇦
Tips to decipher what the labels really mean. Suggestions.
Despite the additional time it takes to check labels, it’s made grocery shopping a far more pleasant experience.
Hey - I'm an American, and although admittedly I didn't notice this when I bought them, I proudly sauteed some Canadian mushrooms a little while ago to add to a casserole.
Oh Anne I’m so sorry you folks have to deal with this menace .. Canadians are good friends .. Trump is trying to economically bring us to heel .. little does who he has poked .. you folks are always in my prayers
Funny you mentioned this because I was just saying to someone yesterday that DJT is uniting the world in many ways, even if it is simply a shared hatred of the US.
… and I can hear it here in Connecticut: “OK we’ll become a state but we want 40 seats in the House to screw the Orange Menace. And we’re gonna let Tims run Dunkin right off the road. Beaver Tails will be sold year-round. And we take over the health care.”
Same they were out of Mexican strawberries 🍓 today (they’re way better) so I opted for Blackberries from Peru instead of American strawberries: the bunker was full
That's how we were after 9/11.... Not anymore, obviously.
Thanks for being good neighbors for so many years..... I love British Columbia, and I'm not far from Toronto,... The gambling side of the river, lol. 😜
Our hearts go out to everyone that didn't vote for him 💔 I can't imagine what it's gonna be like directly under him but I do know he is NOT looking out for anyone but billionaires & Putin
I’ve really noticed the Canada products front and centre, with signage.
I’ve also started seeing posters in windows “Canadian owned and operated” - love it
So many people checking the labels not for nutritional info, but to see where it comes from. And congratulating each other when they put down something thar says "Product of USA".

Wait does that mean I am at risk of being deported?
Thank you.

Come on up! ❤️🇨🇦
Everyone is reading packages.

I'm a Zen Buddhist. In ways, it would be akin to, "No mud. No lotus."
I try to stay vigilant so as not to fall to the "dark side." - Hatred.

I'm in the US, but I'm glad Canada is standing up for itself cos Trump is an asshole and someone needs to stand up to him.
