True, but might be rock and a hard place if sanctions are imposed. We do need to trade (both directions). We also need to assume that the public can be trusted to make appropriate choices (eg. Food and animal welfare considerations).

Agreed. however the Eurosceptics came 2nd. at the GE & may form the next government. Starmer is normalising and building bridges.
If one wants a relevant poll that actually reflects EU reality, Labour are projected to get 25.4% and Con + Ref 47.8%.
