Had a fantastic time getting some gardening done with @johnmilnehorsham.bsky.social , got to meet with volunteers from Friends of Horsham Park and the Maze garden group at the Strawford Centre. šŸŒæ Their brilliant work is keeping the parks clean and showing true community spirit in Horsham.

Of all the things Elon Musk has said, this is the worst. We cannot rely on Trump and his shadow president Musk. The UK must boost defence spending and take the lead in Europe.

Trump is on the brink of betraying Ukraine and the UK. Britain must lead in Europe by increasing defence spending immediately and all political parties should get round the table to make that happen. I fear what happens if we don't take this step.

So Nigel Farage has chosen to explain away Trumpā€™s outrageous remarks about President Zelensky instead of doing the right thing and condemning them. Deeply disappointing but not at all surprising. He sounds like a spokesman for Trump. He certainly doesnā€™t speak for Britain.

There's a rumour that Nigel Farage is keeping his head down because he's off to a Trump cheerleading conference over the weekend. Iā€™m afraid Iā€™m being proved right- Farage is far more interested in Trump's success than British security. He is a bootlicker and a plastic patriot.

Calling Zelensky a ā€œDictatorā€ must be where the line is drawn. It is my sincere hope that the whole political spectrum in the United Kingdom will speak with one voice in opposition to Trumpā€™s lies.

When the PM visits the White House next week, he must challenge Trump on his Ukraine lies in the strongest possible terms. It's alarming to see the leader of the free world parroting Putin's propaganda. Trump spoke in Mar-a-Lago but his words could have been written in Moscow.

šŸšØBREAKING: My team have uncovered shocking new data - a record 20 million people waited 4 weeks or more to see their GP last year. That's just wrong.

The Chancellorā€™s misguided policies have put the economy at risk of a new era of stagflation. The Government's jobs tax and refusal to drop their red lines on a UK-EU Customs Union have snuffed out growth, and now people are being hit in the pocket.

Donald Trump is the President of the United States and the Spokesperson for Vladimir Putin. Only we in the UK and Europe will protect Ukraine.

Family farms are at the heart of our rural communities. Spent today with @steffanaquarone.bsky.social - listening to farmers who fear losing everything. The government must listen to them too, and scrap the Family Farm Tax.

Keir Starmer should bring back Parliament to debate his plans to support Ukraine. We have just days for the UK to lead in Europe and save Ukraine from a shoddy deal cooked up by Trump and Putin.

In principle there should be a vote in Parliament when troops are deployed. Iā€™m confident all sides of the House are likely to agree with the Prime Minister apart from those Trump bootlickers in Reform.

The PM is absolutely right when it comes to the deployment of British troops in Ukraine to uphold any peace deal and deter Putin. The Government must look at reversing the Conservatives' 10k troop cuts asap.

Trump does not respect bootlickers like Nigel Farage . Standing up to Trump is the only way to make a deal with him.

Iā€™m so relieved that Yair Horn has been released from captivity. I will never forget speaking to Yairā€™s dad Itzik this time last year and the strength which he has shown in unimaginably difficult circumstances. Now we must get Yairā€™s brother Eitan home to safety too.

I wonder if JD Vance is planning to lecture his bossā€™s buddy Vladimir Putin on democracy and free speech. šŸ¤”

If Ukraine is forced to surrender its sovereign territory to Russia, it will be the greatest betrayal of a European ally since Poland in 1945. The UK must lead in Europe in defence of Ukraine. We cannot stand back and watch as Zelensky is bullied by Trump.

Trumpā€™s talks with Putin threaten Ukraineā€™s freedom and Europeā€™s security. If the US wonā€™t lead, the UK must. The Government must act now ā€“ letā€™s pass an emergency law to seize Russian assets by Monday.

Ukraine has fought too hard for its freedom, only to have its future dictated by Putin and Trump behind closed doors. Any peace must guarantee Ukraineā€™s sovereignty and security on terms acceptable to Ukrainians, not just to Moscow and Mar-a-Lago.

The government should draw up plans for Tesla tariffs to hit Musk where it hurts, if Trump follows through with his threats to the UK steel industry. Trump and Musk can't be allowed to bully the UK while the Conservatives and Nigel Farage cheer them on from the sidelines.

Delighted my constituent Andrea has won her long battle with the DWP over Carerā€™s Allowance repayments, but it should never have come to this. Thousands of carers like Andrea are caught up in this scandal. This ruling should be the turning point.

Great to join @carolinevoadenmp.bsky.social in South Devon over the weekend. Planting trees at Hope Wood šŸŒ³ and hearing how horses help transform lives at Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship šŸ“. Local projects like these show the power of community and care.

Trumpā€™s threat of tariffs puts workers in our great British steel industry at risk. Keir Starmer must call a Four Nations summit with leaders across the UK to protect our economy from Trumpā€™s damaging trade war.

The way DWP has treated Andrea and thousands of carers like her makes my blood boil. The Carerā€™s Allowance repayments scandal has dragged on far too long, and ministers urgently need to put things right.

A great day out at Paignton Pier: arcades, crazy golf and even won a few prizes (team effort with Steve Darling and Jennie). Local businesses like these are the beating heart of our communities. The Liberal Democrats will always be their champions.

Cornwall Air Ambulance is a lifeline, reaching people when every second counts. Theyā€™re fundraising for a second helicopter to help save more lives. With Ben Maguire today, I saw their dedication firsthandā€”an incredible team delivering vital support across the county. šŸš

When we need a fragile truce in Gaza to hold, Trumpā€™s dangerous ramblings about displacing 1.8 million people only make things worse. At PMQs, I told Keir Starmer he must be clear: these proposals must be rejected, and we must continue to support a two-state solution.

The delay of so many local elections is a disgraceful stitch-up between Labour and the Conservatives. Where elections are still happening, the Liberal Democrats will campaign hard to build on last yearā€™s historic election wins and give communities the strong voice they deserve.

At a moment when we desperately need a fragile truce to hold, Trumpā€™s ramblings on Gaza risk having the effect of a bull in a china shop. The UK needs to make clear that these proposals must be rejected, and that we support international law and a two state solution based on 1967 borders.

Donald Trumpā€™s attempts to bully Denmark over Greenland, threatening a NATO ally with military force, are unacceptable and wrong. Keir Starmer should make clear our total solidarity when he meets with his Danish counterpart today.

The UK mustnā€™t let Donald Trump bully us or our ally Canada. We need to work with our allies in Europe and around the world to stand up to him. The Prime Minister should invite Commonwealth leaders to London to discuss a joint response to Trumpā€™s global trade war.

Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves claim to be looking everywhere for opportunities for growth but are ignoring the solution right under their noses. A new UK-EU Customs Union would turbocharge our economy, tearing down the trade barriers holding British businesses back.

Every young person deserves support and a real shot at success. Roots & Shoots brings together coaches, youth workers, and local police to mentor and guide them. Great to see it firsthand with @ldbrianmathewmp.bsky.social - though I doubt weā€™ll be getting scouted anytime soon!

šŸ™„ Britons know a little too much about Chris Philp's work ethic - it took him just 39 days as Liz Truss' Chief Secretary to the Treasury to crash our economy and send mortgage bills soaring.

The UK needs to lead in Europe again. We can't rely on Trump, and Labour hasn't shown the urgency or ambition to fix our relationship with our closest neighbours. A UK-EU customs union is the first step repairing that relationship. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-cost-starmeā€¦

At PMQs I challenged the Prime Minister to drop his opposition to a new UK-EU customs union. With Donald Trump threatening trade wars, we should rebuild ties with our European neighbours and tear down the trade barriers and red tape hurting British businesses.

Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing everyone celebrating in the UK and beyond a joyful Year of the Snake, full of wisdom, resilience, and good fortune.

The new Health and Social Care Hub at Kingston College is absolutely fantastic, providing students with valuable hands-on experience! Thank you to the students and the team for showing me around. It is an amazing addition to a brilliant college.

Today we honour the six million Jews and millions of others murdered by the Nazis. We remember the depths of cruelty humanity can reach and the hope and compassion that can endure even after such darkness. Lily Ebertā€™s legacy reminds us to keep fighting antisemitism and hatred wherever it exists.

The people of Ukraine have valiantly fought to defend their democracy and freedom. Donald Trump has only ever fought to enrich himself and his cronies. Britain must stand with Ukraine against Putin. Article by @mikeysmith.com

My statement on the Southport tragedy.

Why is the government happy to cosy up to China, but won't even look at a better customs deal with our closest neighbours in Europe? Ministers say theyā€™re looking everywhere for growth but are ignoring what is staring them in the face.

Elon Musk is powerful, dangerous and an incredible bore - weā€™re going to have to hold him and the other tech bros to account because Donald Trump certainly wonā€™t.

We know what a bad Trump trade deal would mean... Worse food, lower animal welfare and more pain for British farmers ā€“ just like the bad deals the Conservatives struck. We can't let that happen.

If you donā€™t like what Trump is doing in America donā€™t let Nigel Farage do it here - take action - join the Liberal Democrats today: libdems.org.uk/join
