When I read "the big unions are all in the enemy's side now" I'm gonna assume you know zilch about American unions beyond big news stories and negatively polarizing yourself online

the most terrifying American labor union (non police category) that I ever saw in my career was the service workers of UNITE-HERE, which damn nearly destroyed Deutsche Bank an institution, simply because it tried to finance the construction of a non-union casino in Las Vegas

I spent 5 years trying to explain to Deutsche, who just could not seem to understand why they kept on getting into such awful regulatory trouble in the USA, how this could relate to their attempts to get out of the Cosmopolitan Resorts syndication they got stuck with in 2008 when the market closed.

Unionized ski patroller here. Our union (CWA) is definitively NOT on the bad guys side. Flight attendants, writers, academics and of course telecom workers all opposed to this regime.

My mom’s family is from what used to be the most unionized city in the country, the fact that my great aunt was the head of the beautician’s union has cured me of this
