I don’t want to go all “doctors hate her because of this one trick” on you, but at age 42 I just started hanging pairs of socks next to each other on the line (instead of my usual chaos laundry approach). GAME CHANGER

I try to buy exactly the same socks so they all match each other. But there are still tiny variations in size and colour depending on what they’ve been washed with previously, detergent used, cycle used etc. Sock washing is a minefield.
I've done this too! (The socks thing, not the hating Tracey thing) and I can confirm that a little bit of time and effort at that stage saves a whole lot of time and hassle trying to find a pair when you're getting dressed, god damn it, I refuse to learn from this and you can't make me
I’ve got one more. Have you ever washed bedding only to find your pillow cases end up inside the duvet cover and don’t rinse properly? Button up the duvet before you pop that sucker in the machine.
I always think about this just as the washing machine starts. Everything ends up inside the duvet cover. I’m going to have to stick a note to the front of the machine reminding me to do up the buttons.

socks of a feather should wash together.
