The first thing is to congratulate everyone who was elected today, and thank those who run the elections.
I wish the successful candidates all the best. Gloucestershire is a wonderful place to live & we do best when we celebrate the diversity of the district and our inclusive approach to life.

I hope that we learn the right lessons from these results: tackle the real causes of falling living standards & broken public services, & protect the vulnerable. Austerity was a disaster. The right offer the politics of despair - we need to make hope possible. We can do so much better.
We must work together to build a fairer, healthier, more equal society; put more money into people's pockets; tax the multinationals, & act on climate change. We also need to find ways to improve voter engagement.
I’m looking forward to working with our councillors for the benefit of everyone.

Reverse the removal of trans rights. Stop the bank account snooping of anyone claiming benefits/pension. Stop attacking disabled people.
That's millions of people that vote that you are attacking.
