This makes me think of my favorite allegory for this sort of science denialism.

Louis Pasteur invented the process of making milk safe (what we now call Pasteurization) in 1862. That was 162 years ago. He did it because he witnessed countless people getting sick from a whole host of horrible pathogens, which some of them died from. And now here we are.

The fucked up part is how many people decided to look through that same window and say, "Yeah, they are right"
