I couldn't get it to load in any browser and it turned out it was my VPN. I reset the location and it started working again.

I have been having weird issues connecting to bsky since forever. Used to have it a lot on the pc with firefox but that fixed itself somehow, on my mobile with chrome it doesn't work however and I can't seem to be able to connect reliably. So not just you.

Try Duckduckgo?
Solves most of my tracking issues, and has a handy drop down for changing locations when needed to curcumvent blocks in seconds.

Really worried can use TurboVPN for free as well.

Between that and Signal for encrypted messaging and phone calls, about as safe as I can be.
