"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." was always recognizable as bullshit. The truth is, it only bends which ever direction sufficient numbers of people bend it.

Right now, a majority of white people (I am one, fwiw) have decided it bends toward fascism.

Okay, and also, no young person has to feel like they must bend it on their own. One of the points of the line is the unsung heroes who have, and are, working together to stop the fascists. It’s the hope of the younger generations that the inspiring story is there, not necessarily spoon fed to them,
