If I'm John Thune, I don't even give him a hearing. Giving Democrats a chance to question Gaetz under oath is the last thing the GOP needs right now. The recess appointment won't happen either - Dems can and will filibuster it. /3

So where does that leave Gaetz? Amid all the controversy and chaos he will withdraw his name from consideration, blaming Democrats and RINOs. It's Ronny Jackson all over again. /4
As Gaetz withdraws, Trump gets to appoint an acting AG, and we all know how much Trump loves "acting" Cabinet members. Then he'll eventually find somebody else who can actually get confirmed. /5
And Gaetz? He'll continue along the Ronny Jackson path - go home to Florida and use his beef against Dems and RINOs to run for office. With Trump's support, could anybody defeat him in the GOP primary for Florida governor in 2026? /6
