Planted the area between road and sidewalk with flowers. Corner lot so over 100ft long. Every year I add more. Almost completely void of grass.

California poppies are my favorite flowers. I try to grow them everywhere I live—no luck. I think next time I’m in the Bay Area I’m just going to bring bag a huge bag of dirt. Maybe that will work.

I lived in the Bay Area (Pacifica) for 7 years, then had to move back to FL (🤮). I really want a little patch or big pot of these and cannot get soil/water right (the heat/humidity also doesn’t help). So I think I’m gonna haul a big bag of CA dirt back (no critters), put it in a huge pot & see.
