I didn't think they anticipated it going this way either but whether they take, or even can take affirmative steps to stop it is another question.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I do not actually think the Supreme Court intended events to unspool this way in issuing last week's compromise decision. I think a majority genuinely believed that the Trump administration would get the hint and bring back Abrego Garcia. It was foolish and wrong.
