We do a version of this in my family, where you'll "correct" the speaker with a word that's a near-homonym & give a wrong definition for the original word. "No, you mean 'interregnum'. 'Interrogate' is this device they use at airports to make everyone terrified before getting on the plane."

My sisters and I played a game we called TV Guide. One of us would look in the TV Guide and either read out a real description or make one up. It was great fun!

(Back then TV Guide had listings for all the shows including the channel they were on, the time they would air, and quick summaries.)

We played the same game in Western Australia in the 60's &70's. We also called it "Dictionary".
It's a great game. All you need is a comprehensive dictionary (the older the better) and pencils and paper.
