Mike's messageboard is like Bluesky, while AAs one is more like Twitter. In the old days of the board, Nigelblues used to write up his away trips. Mikes board is always interesting and mostly respectful.

Mainly as Mike wasn’t in it for himself, or out for iNsiDeR posts of detriment to the club. He’s just a genuine guy and a real fan who saw the early gap. He was smart enough to set something up, giving likeminded supporters somewhere to engage, share stories and more. Nigel among a few key figures.

Spent hours lurking on that messageboard back in the day. The legendary Sludge Factory v Lone Gunman threads were hilariously funny. Great days.

Yeah, good times. Sludge a fave for the funnies. Sadly the inexplicable rebrand saw die-hard City punters break life long habits. TLG an example of a prominent voice closing down (no complaints). I was running the official board and saw similar, but Mike’s was always the best. Independence matters.

That red fiasco was awful, I gave up my season ticket (which I had held since the Frank Burrows days) when it occurred and never really got the bug back for going week in week out. Still follow closely from afar though.

It was the same for many.. and fully understandable. My fandom was eroded, while also feeling helpless on the inside of things. The club was in civil war mode, added to by the childish Mackay / Tan rift. Post return to blue I had nothing left in the tank, with trust fully broken. It was time to go.

Poor Dudders. He took the rebrand really hard, though it did lead to a European football journey that looked very interesting… and gave him a renewed, authentic connection to footie.

As with TLG, it was the club’s loss. Such a pointless period. The club hasn’t fully recovered. It may never do so.

I've been on that board since 1997. I still look at it now and again, when I can see past the popups. It gets bogged down by so many long standing squabbles, which I find tedious. That said, there are some excellent die hard fans on there and some very interesting and insightful posts.
