Husband revealed two old tricks for dealing with minor wood furniture damage. Mayo on a water ring takes it out. And a raw walnut rubbed on a scratch will cover it and even smooth it out a little.

I had to do this, Jami. Warm it with a hair dryer, then try gently prying it with a credit card. If that doesn’t work, dab it with denatured alcohol for ten seconds at most, then blot it up.
I tried the Mayo trick recently on a water stain and while it helped, that area is now much darker. I might have overdone it. So a word of caution to those who might try it: Mayo sparingly!
I was able to reverse water staining clouds on a finished breakfast side with folding leaves by using steam iron on a natural cloth in steps. It worked. I'm for less first. The mayo sounds like a great trick. I might worry about the acid and oil in it for certain applications. You get one chance. 🧐
My grandma taught me (about the nuts) You can pair the furniture with the nut! For example, raw pecans make scratches disappear on pecan wood furniture.
my wife did the walnut thing and i followed her around for 6 months waiting for her to perform her next miracle until someone else said, "no, she's not lying, that's really a thing walnuts can just do."
