If you have prairie dogs, you have wild hogs. If you have wild hogs you have coyotes. The ar 15 is to deal with all the things that can hurt the farm or the farm owner.. note wild hogs are invasive species who are incredibly dangerous and travel in groups.
You obviously don't know what you need on a ranch. Gun, fire extinguisher, water source, fuel source, barn, a few other things I can't think of but are absolutely required to have for any situation *though you need a fire extinguisher everywhere*
45 gov is a hefty round and if you havnt had to put down something smaller and faster or was able to get the one shot you need to off doesnt invalidate my point
ok sure but what about when you miss and it runs off? if it's a prairie dog it can burrow and then you gotta deal with that too. or any number of other reasons you need to have a rapid-fire rifle in the farm.
example if i hadnt had my rapid fire pistol i wouldn't have been able to deal with this invasive large snake before it tried to get one of us or one of our animals on the farm. and i would have preferred a ar 15 with a sight and suppressor so i wouldn't bother the neighbors
nothing like a hot shell ejected to the cheek and an off center gun - lefties are forced to compensate for bad manufacturing with additional skill. Or pay a higher price for a less-demanded gun
being so far left you're for accessibility in gun manufacturing is a weird place 😅
Oh we are going to need these AR-15's but not for the ranch. Trying to start a dictatorship in a country full of weapons is really stupid. They screwed themselves defending gun ownership in actuality. Yes tons of non MAGAt's have weapons and know how to use them.
Clearly yall don't have the type a prairie dogs that know how to order body armor off of Amazon. I need the picatinny rail so I can mount my night ops hardware. Night raids are the only way to handle them. /s
I jest, but I know there are some who actually think like that.
Just to mix it up, one can get an AR style rifle chambered in .22 caliber (or number of calibers beside .223). I’m in no way advocating for that, and I’m directly advocating against killing prairie dogs, among other things in this scenario.
And you’re not a marksman or a hunter. I’ve always used bolt action or lever action rifles I hunt, my Mossberg 464 lever action 30/30 can take down a bear. A 22LR is all you need for small game and vermin.
yeah I'm sure the military who spent billions and 20 years to fight sand monkeys with barely any real training or order and LOST is gonna win against its own citizens
Yeah, a .22 long rifle from a distance is all you should need. Save the AR-15 for the 6' tall two-legged predators, but a .22 from a distance can be almost as effective at handling the latter, even more accurately if you don't shake when pulling the trigger.
Most AR's are chambered in .223. It's just an accurate center fire 22. In Canada, you'd get fined $5,000 if you get caught shooting at anything bigger than a coyote with a .223 - because it's not powerful enough to ensure a 1 shot kill of a deer.

we have a lever action and a garden hoe that takes care of all farm risks.
But I'm sure the VTuber with no farming and hunting videos knows more than the farmer 🙄
.223 is designed to wound or kill humans, not farm critters.
Feel free to ignore me if you’d like.
