The headline seems really different to what the study actually finds. It makes it sound like a clean energy transition *increases* exposure in black and high-poverty comunities.

Also this study contradicts e.g.:

The headline says minority populations exposure to PM may be left 25% higher than non minorities over the course of the transition, not that it will increase. If you look at the base case and the other cases the exposure doesn't become equal until the mandates are hit.

So if we take the 2035 scenario and ask what happens if the govt extends the mandate then we see in the 2050 scenario that minorities exposure are still higher than non minorities over the course of the transition. NDC scenario we did see increases but that wasn't in my main point

The other day it smelled strongly of ozone / burning tires in my neighborhood. It was hard to breathe, and I could hear people coughing. We need to deal with all forms of pollution. We know what the atmosphere was like preindustrial revolution, and that should be a goal. Enforced by labor strikes.

I have a breathing technique that can help individuals when air gets bad. It's not a solution for sure, but overtone singing has saved my life. When I sing I can (sorry this is gross) taste stuff coming out of my lungs. It could be used in an emergency to last a bit longer.
