I think epic-editing is the way to go for many diseases - I know the genome editing folks love slicing and dicing DNA, but I get really nervous about unintended consequences. Especially in the brain where you can't just regenerate f'd up cells.

Most genome editing work to date has been DNA based. A new paper out today assessed a single dose of epigenetic editing (thru PCSK9) for marked (~70%) and durable reduction of LDL cholesterol [in non-human primates]
