The lyrics to the song were written during the War of 1812. The fact that it is playing at all while the US is joking about another invasion is an insult to us.
Anyone upset at the lack of respect should realize respect is a two way street, and think what has happened to lose the respect of their greatest ally.
I didn’t word my reply well. I don’t blame those who chose to boo during the U.S. anthem. I’m embarrassed for my country. I’m embarrassed that the words & actions of any American, let alone the President, would cause people to think this is who we are. We are better than this.
You mean Americans aren’t booing Canadians? I’d say not yet. There are, sadly, many Americans who embrace the lies that Trump tells about tariffs, fentanyl, illegal migration and why Canada should be our 51st state. I believe it’s just a matter of time before the boos start. But I hope not.
Thank you for booing Trump for his irrational actions against a strong, faithful ally and neighbor. He deserves it. Many of us are scared and angry as well.
Good for them! Maybe some of those in the US that aren't paying attention to the news here will see it and ask a question or two and get clued in on what is happening.
As a Canadian, I realize more than half of them who bothered to vote voted for that dayglo orange condom full of fart, so yes, I hate the average voting or refusing to vote American too.

There was a time the speakers cut out and us Canucks sang the US lyrics loudly. Now we are scared, angry and booing seems liKe a fair outlet.
𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑲 𝒀𝑶𝑼!!
Canadians also feel for how negativity Trump's tariffs is going to hit ALL Americans. We need to continue our mutual cross-country support.

That anthem represents the government right now.
That would be an incredibly powerful message.
