They don’t care. They don’t care that the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 to bring an innocent man home to his family. They don’t care. They think it’s funny.

"Kevin Hayden, I think, needs to ask himself, is it necessary and proper to abduct somebody in the middle of their constitutionally protected jury trial? That’s really what’s at stake.” I am not a lawyer, but it seems like charging this ICE agent is one of our few tools for pushing back right now.

FEMA denied Washington's request for emergency relief funds to help repair damage from recent devastating storms. There are very clear criteria to qualify for these funds. Washington’s application met all of them. This is another troubling example of the federal government withholding funding.

He almost put enough gold stuff in the White House to make it look like the Kremlin. Not quite, but he’ll get there.

This year Earth Day will be overshadowed by a major climate setback: the final Canada Carbon Rebate will be issued on April 22. Be warned the same forces that spread misleading narratives are now coming for other hard-won environmental protections. www.thesudburystar.com/opinion/sudb...

Everything is bad but birds are good so time to reinstitute BIRD PROTOCOL where a bird is deployed to offset endless evil vibes, please enjoy, birds are good, okay bye (photo by me)

The FDA is asking laid-off employees to temporarily return after mass cuts decimated the agency’s ability to penalize stores that sell cigarettes and vapes to minors.

So by paying our taxes, we pay for a Central American dictator who runs the 116th-richest nation in the world to build five more supermax concentration camps slated to be filled with our countrymen and wholly innocent legal permanent residents of the United States? Is that right?

Timely call to act on child poverty. Dr Louis Peachey: "We are more frightened that we may give a benefit to a parent we consider undeserving than the consequences of letting their child grow up in poverty. Child poverty shames and diminishes us all." www.croakey.org/a-timely-cal... #SDOH #AusPol

Some major public institutions in Canada, including a pension management firm and a leading hospital, are advising staff against traveling to the US.

I don’t think a better headline could have been written about what happened yesterday. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

To all those cattle producing red states:

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

Good for Harvard

Oh look. Another bribery and extortion scheme.

Travel to the U.S. is a no go.

Poilievre would use the notwithstanding clause to override some Canadians' Charter rights. www.ctvnews.ca/federal-elec...

MIT following Harvard's lead here

"Thus did a handful of rapacious citizens come to control all that was worth controlling in America. Thus was the savage and stupid and entirely inappropriate and unnecessary and humorless American class system created." ~ Kurt Vonnegut, 1965

In 1889 if you worked at the New Almaden mercury mine outside of Silicon Valley you could pay your rent on what you made in 1-4 days of work. Nowadays in Silicon Valley it takes me two whole weeks of work in the data mines to pay my rent. 🤷‍♀️

1/6 🇨🇳CHINA'S RARE EARTH GAMBIT🇨🇳 In response to Trump's 145% tariffs, China has blocked exports of seven rare earth metals. China produces 90% of global rare earths and 90% of powerful magnets made with them—a move set to severely disrupt US industry. #TradeWar #RareEarths

This is reality

My op/ed: @PierrePoilievre's “three strikes” proposal is a failed US import that raises homicides by up to 29% and leads to absurd sentences (25 years for pizza theft in California). It’s also patently unconstitutional. Link: benjaminperrin.ca/f/election-w...

We've reached the point in our descent into fascism where the Jewish governor's house getting firebombed on Passover by a guy trying to bash his head in with a sledgehammer is overshadowed by the story of the President saying he wants to build foreign gulags for US citizens.

He thinks deporting innocent people he doesn’t like is funny. Could be anyone.

Treating America like Russia? Wow. Can't blame them.

Poilievre is saying that unless we do consecutive sentences for multiple murders, you get “4 years of jail time per murder.” “That’s insane” he says. It’s actually a lie. They don’t get out. They get a hearing, and the murderers he’s talking about don’t get parole in Canada. He’s rage-farming.

The last time we did this, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was still a boy. My story on that boy we met six years ago, the man who sat at the podium Monday and the #BlueJays organization that is tied to him forever: www.mlb.com/bluejays/new...

At least one US president cares to denounce this attack.

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

Quebec has used the notwithstanding clause several times. Outside Quebec, I've only seen it invoked by Conservative Premiers for reasons ranging from same-sex marriage bans to banning strikes by education workers. Now Poilievre has joined Conservatives wanting to shortcut our Constitution. #cdnpoli

This is GREAT NEWS… Pass. It. On. 😎✨

Another court order that Trump is now openly defying. Republicans in Congress assured us repeatedly that Trump would never defy a court order. It is obvious that he simply doesn’t care though after the Supreme Court gave him immunity.

HEMMER: Is Gitmo sill open? STEPHEN MILLER: It's wide open HEMMER: Can you tell me how many immigrants are there? STEPHEN MILLER: No, I cannot. That's operationally sensitive information. But I want to be very clear. We've been living through a hoax. Nobody has been mistakenly sent to El Salvador

A lot of people would rather see others harmed than be helped, but I personally wouldn’t build a political movement around it.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

This is terrifying in America. ICE agents are showing up masked—these abductions must stop. If you’re going to detain someone, show your face, present a warrant, and proper ID. Disappearing people from their families without evidence or accountability isn’t law enforcement—it’s state-sponsored fear.
