An interesting, if somewhat under-the-radar, spat is underway between Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and the VA Secretary over people being fired, rehired, and then more fired who help to the keep the Veterans Crisis Line up and running. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-white-house-live-updates_n_67aa443de4b0cced3687c9ec/liveblog_67bf84bfe4b00e46454b5176

Perhaps something a less misogynist in tone? Duckworth pushes back against loss of the VA crisis line? Trump's VA Secretary wants suicidal veterans to die? 17 veterans on average commit suicide each day and Duckworth wants to save them?
Duckworth protested and they got rehired. Now Va has fired more people Duckworth says are "pivotal" to the crisis line's operations.
She is "outraged."
Wtf is wrong with you that you are writing abt an important vital service this way?
"No Veterans Crisis Line responders have been laid off," a VA spokesperson told me.
I'm sure Duckworth, who you don't interview, has people who work there who are telling her the truth.
It's not a "spat" and she is really outraged, not "outraged."
A free, confidential, 24/7 support line for America's veterans in crisis and potentially at risk for harming themselves.
Suicide is the 12th-leading cause of death for veterans, and the 2nd-leading cause for veterans under 45.

And way to downplay the statistics:
