It should be clearly marked. It was obvious to me too, because I know Musk's style well enough to know he would never word things this way. But the average person can't be expected to know.

Yeah, it takes a little bit of the joke away, but there are more important things to worry about.

This is actually why I think this disinformation is so prevalent. Think of all the people that believe something is true online since Internet media literacy is a hard skill to learn. Most people aren’t going to verify that the screenshot of Elon is fake.
