This site might be a little *too* liberal.
How can we shift the window to respectful fact based conversations and away from "I'm blocking you because I disagree with your endorsement of a particular thing".
That's how we wind up with red vs blue goggles and post-factual society.

Bluesky doesn’t have algorithmic feeds. But it could add some configurable ones, like reducing the number of posts you see from people, instead of blocking them, or sentiment/follow analysis to reduce posts similar to ones you flag.
But even without that, people still self-select into echo chambers unless they’re looking for drama.
There's a really crap tedency among some of the folks on this site to attack rather than discuss.

An unwillingness to entertain, or even be exposed, to ideas that disagree with yours, is an indication of an unwillingness to derive a deeper understanding.
We don't have to attack each other if we disagree on certain things.
I generally just avoid anything that is overly political or even hints at signaling an us vs them mentality. Unless it's against the Nazis, fuck those guys.

The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over.
Then shits all over the board.
Then struts around like it won.”
I have plenty of conservative friends irl - people who I at least know are actual people expressing sincere views
Lets discuss ideas and not attack people for those ideas. Ad hominem ends the discussion.
Maybe you are correct I shouldn't have said "too liberal" - it was the behavior I observed.
Elon is weird and probably not good.
Boeing/Raytheon/Lockheed are wasteful.
These are discussions I'd like to have without being called an elon-stan by people who are so "woke" they refuse to entertain anything that matches their keyword filter.
