It isn’t that autistic individuals “lack emotion” it is just that we don’t always “perform emotion” in the way that social decorum calls for and ESPECIALLY not when said decorum calls for fake emotion.

Just speculation ok? But it's my guess that back then, you felt emotion SO STRONGLY that it overwhelmed you and you had to shut down to cope. I love watching your videos with my husband the amount of love you have for your wife shows 🫶
This is exactly what I’ve been saying in all these ‘anxious v avoidant’ proliferating. Avoidant has been marked up as ‘bad character’ and narcissistic’ and emotionless’. Simplistic and reductive.
