Why is it that whenever I start a new fantasy book, I always feel dumb because I have no idea what the hell is going on in the story? Is it just me? 😂😂😂

With books like this, sci-fi or fantasy, it always feels like the author is intentionally trying to confuse the reader. Like they want to feel superior. Just ease the reader in
they always start by introducing like 30 characters at once too 💀 how am i supposed to remember all of that? usually i'm completely clueless about where anyone is or who they are until solidly 20-25% into the book lol
Definitely not just you 😂 I can more or less manage urban fantasy but stay away from high fantasy all together. Some publishers like to think that putting a 3 page list of all characters in the front is somehow helpful, and it AINT! Especially on audio 😂
