I think we should really stop making this weird, analytically wrong comparisons. Musk and Trump are fascists. That means - in practice - something far worse than "just" authoritarian. They dismantle institutions in order to atomize society. If nobody resists, the US is done for. Sad.

Nonsense. It will be the Republic of the United States of America because a) they hate the Democratic party, and b) "It's not a democracy, it's a republic," like that argument means anything.

I was highlighting the often-repeated euphemism of renaming a country 'Democratic' when it has lost all traces of democracy.
That day has already arrived in the US, so they might be tempted. But yeah, I accept the name is probably too close to the Democratic party.
