Martial law in South Korea is a chilling reminder of how fragile democracy can be. The use of military power to suppress freedom undermines the very principles the nation fought to establish. The people deserve justice not oppression.

Fun Fact: a South Korean general seized power in 1961 and ruled by repression until 1979, when he was assassinated by the head of the Korean CIA (his former BFF). Democracy eventually came in 1987.
