I remember only a handful of images in my childhood that helped fanning the fire of my very young imagination and this poster by Tom Jung for @ralphbakshi.bsky.social
’s animated adaptation of LORD OF THE RINGS is one of them. I had no clue back then about Tolkien’s THE HOBBIT/LOTR books.. (1/2)

70’s /80’s LOTR art was magical and trippy af.
I loved Peter Jackson’s movies, but some of that magic was lost and hasn’t come back.
I saw it again, a few years ago. It has not aged well.
Also, francesco, I loved your work on hawkeye:)
and blade runner
and some others
Now i know ^_^
Still so epic!

It’s just nostalgic for me. A lot of those late 70s movies don’t hold up (The Black Hole) but omg at the time it was little nerd heaven!

Inspired me to read the books, play the games etc.
Haven’t watched it in many years though so don’t know how it holds up for me.
Stuck in my head forever!
watching it TODAY ... is really painful.
that theres more of that, even worse.
LOTR) as a kid and the got the picture book! Never enjoyed the later movies as much
But Leonard Rosenman's score is phenomenal. Best of his career hands down. A benchmark in fantasy film music.
Rosenman was very influential in his day [Rebel Without a Cause] and has, it seems, mostly been forgotten.
